Lovely Ingredients

Matcha Green Tea Powder

If you haven't had a hot matcha tea latte (preferably w/oat milk or coconut milk), you really should treat yourself. It'll give you a bit of cozy energy that slowly wears off rather than leaving you in need of a nap. It's also full of antioxidants, helps improve your focus and concentration and is heart healthy. Oh, and it's delicious with just a touch of honey or agave.

Matcha is also an excellent ingredient for skin care. It's anti-bacterial and contains incredibly high levels of epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), which is known to reduce free radicals (those molecules that cause damage to cell walls and help speed up the aging process). This potent antioxidant is helpful in reducing inflammation, soothing the skin and calming redness. It also helps reduce acne, increase skin elasticity, reduce puffiness and eliminate toxins.

The vitamins in green tea, including Vitamin B-2 and E, help keep your skin glowing. Vitamin B-2 has the ability to maintain collagen levels, which can improve the firmness of your skin. Vitamin E is known for its ability to nourish and hydrate the skin.

My lovely friend, Linda Snow, of Moondrop Herbals, makes an amazing mask called the Skin Care Repair Firming Facial Mask. One of its stand-out ingredients is organic green matcha tea powder. I love using this mask during my Matcha Blast Facial at Medical Mile Massage & Yoga Therapy Center. Take care of you, yeah?
